Description:

The KSUU News and Promotions Director will produce a daily Newswrap (on weekdays) ensuring that the news is current and relevant to the audience. The individual will have an understanding of how to use KSUU's production studio and will keep other staff members at KSUU up to date on news and events. Promotion includes promoting KSUU through finding, organizing, coordinating, and carrying out promotional events, remotes, and other public relations activities, as well as maintaining an appropriate station image in non-broadcast situations. The individual will have regular contact with the SUU STIL, SPB, and other offices to plan and promote campus events. They will also help develop a visual branding package for Thunder 91 and work with other staff members and DJs to promote KSUU, live DJ shows, events, and other activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Audio production and editing proficiency using Adobe Audition.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the KSUU Production Studio, Big Thunder Podcast Studio, and Thunder 91 on-air studio equipment.
  • Willingness to stay current on news and events primarily at SUU and in the Cedar City area.
  • Confident, professional attitude and experience with news delivery for radio.
  • Organized and able to keep facts straight and report the news accurately.
  • Experience and knowledge of marketing, branding, and imaging.
  • Familiarity with and ability to set up KSUU's remote equipment.
  • Knowledge of the FCC regulations governing underwriting and non-commercial guidelines.
